The new building for Sika Schweiz AG on the Tüffenwies site, where Sika has been located since its inception in 1910, includes laboratories, offices for the group management, and an employee restaurant with an attractive terrace facing the Limmat.
The seven-story building comprises a ground floor, four upper floors, a roof floor, and a technical floor. A solid construction with flat slabs in in-situ concrete and prefabricated columns forms the main load-bearing structure. A pile foundation ensures load transfer into the subsoil. Colored concrete elements, meandering both vertically and horizontally, give the facade a distinctive expression and highlight Sika’s expertise. To the west, the building is designed to allow for future extensions.
