This includes, among other things, contact details such as name, telephone number, address, or email address, as well as other information that you provide to us, for example, via the contact form.

We take the protection of your data very seriously. This privacy policy is based on both the Swiss Data Protection Act (“DPA”) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”).

2. CONTROLLER

The controller for data processing on this website is:

CH-8008 Zurich

If you have any data protection concerns, you can contact us at the aforementioned address or by email (info@waltgalmarini.ch).

3. COLLECTION AND PROCESSING

a) Contact Data

If you send us an inquiry or information, we store your details, including the contact data you provide, to answer your inquiry and contact you.

b) Project Execution

In the context of project execution (planning and design, project and construction management, preparation of studies and expert opinions, etc.), we also store, use, and process personal data, among other things.

c) Information about our Operations

We use contact data and other data we received from you during project execution, even after the project’s completion or after answering your inquiry, to send you information about our operations and activities. Should you no longer wish to receive such information, you can unsubscribe at any time.

d) Server Log Files

The provider of our website automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

• Browser type and browser version
• Operating system used
• Referrer URL
• Hostname of the accessing computer
• Time of the server request
• IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

e) Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies,” which are text files stored on your computer that enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for us, and to provide other services related to website and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. Google will under no circumstances associate your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent the installation of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings; however, we would like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to fully use all functions of this website.

f) Facebook Plugins

Our website uses plugins from the social network facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). When you access internet pages of our website that contain such a plugin, a connection is established to the Facebook servers, and the plugin is displayed on the internet page by notifying your browser. This transmits to the Facebook server which of our internet pages you have visited. If you are logged in to Facebook as a member, Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account. When using the plugin functions (e.g., clicking the “Like” button, submitting a comment), this information is also assigned to your Facebook account, which you can only prevent by logging out before using the plugin. For more information on the collection and use of data by Facebook, your rights in this regard, and options for protecting your privacy, please refer to Facebook’s data policy.

4. LEGAL BASES FOR PROCESSING

The legal bases for our processing of personal data are primarily Art. 13 para. 2 lit. a DPA and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (processing in direct connection with the conclusion or execution of a contract), as well as Art. 13 para. 1 DPA and Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, c, and f GDPR (consent of the data subject or justification by law, as well as legitimate interests).

5. RETENTION

We store your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes stated in this privacy policy, particularly to fulfill our contractual and legal obligations. If applicable, we will also retain your personal data for a longer period if and as long as the law permits storage for certain purposes, for example, for the defense of legal claims.

6. DISCLOSURE TO THIRD PARTIES

We work with a limited number of trusted external service partners (e.g., IT service providers) who have been carefully selected by us. We disclose data to service partners only to the extent necessary to provide the services.

7. DATA SECURITY

We apply technical and organizational security measures to protect your data against accidental or intentional manipulation, partial or complete loss, destruction, or unauthorized access by third parties.

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, our website uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the address bar of the browser changing from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser bar. If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

We point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g., communication by email) may have security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data from third-party access is not possible.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

If you have questions about the collection, processing, or use of your personal data, or for the correction, deletion, or restriction of processing, as well as for the revocation of granted consent, you can contact us. You also have a right to object and a right to data portability, and you can lodge a complaint about data processing with the competent supervisory authority.
