Hans Kohler AG, Zurich

The new warehouse and logistics building of Hans Kohler AG in Dietikon consists of a fully automated high-bay pallet racking warehouse (HRL) for 6,500 panels, an automated small-parts warehouse (AKL) for 22,000 containers, a three-storey head building with an underground car park and two order-picking levels, as well as an office tower arranged on the side.

H. Kohler AG, Giessen 13, Dietikon

Mushroom and downstand-beam slabs in in-situ concrete construction form the load-bearing structure of the heavily loaded slabs of the head building, while the roof of the head building and the AKL were realised as a lightweight steel structure. The high-bay warehouse was built as a self-supporting silo structure. The entire building was founded on driven piles in the well load-bearing Limmat gravel, in particular due to the high-bay warehouse, which is highly sensitive to settlement.
