Arosa Weisshorn mountain restaurant
Replacement new build for the panoramic restaurant on the Weisshorn. The two-storey new building stands high above Arosa at 2,600 m a.s.l., in the middle of the summit.
1st prize in competition
The building’s base consists of a cast-in-place reinforced concrete structure. The roof structure is executed as a steel–timber hybrid construction: a steel frame forms the primary structure and timber box elements the secondary load-bearing structure. The building structure withstands snow loads of 1,500 kg/m2 and wind speeds of up to 250 km/h.
